Hello! My name is Mu. I’m a queer artist who lives in the PNW.
And I’m being evicted.
It’s sudden, and I have until March 31st in order to find a place and move in. At the moment I live very paycheck to paycheck— comfortable enough, but it makes it all but impossible to put down a two months rent and a deposit to all these new places with the time limit I have. I would rather not settle for something temporary for a month or two because moving is time consuming, expensive and having a negative effect on my mental health (this is my third move since October). I don’t have a car so I have to rent a truck or pay my friends (who might also not have time!), and I still absolutely need to go to my job fulltime.
I just want to find a permanent living situation and I’m absoutely devastated that the place I’m at now wasn’t it. I love this neighborhood and I’m not keen on moving too far from it (I work in downtown Bellevue), but again— this nearly standard ‘first and last month’s rent upfront’ thing is making a lot of places absolutely impossible for me to afford.
The money I’m asking for is the combined total of two month’s rent I can afford (in the 850-900 range) and deposits these places are often asking for. I am not so much concerned with hitting the goal but since it made me ask for one I figured I’d ask for what would be the maximum amount I’d honestly need.
