Muintir a Chorráin Meals on Wheels

Calling on the people of Currane for support! Iarrfaidh muid ort tacaíocht a thabhairt dúinn le bhur d’toil.
As many of you may know, Muintir a’Chorráin (the Currane community association), with the support of government agencies, provides a Meals on Wheels service to older and vulnerable people in our community. We are working hard with staff and volunteers to keep this service going at this difficult time, and our service is busier than ever. Since the restrictions put in place to tackle Covid-19, most of our usual fundraising activities have been cancelled and we expect that tea mornings, collections and our normal channels for raising funds for this service will be curbed for many months. We are now asking our Currane community – people from the area, family and friends of Currane far and wide - to support our efforts to keep the Meals on Wheels service going, including the community centre facilities where the meals are prepared
Anyone from our area, or who has visited this beautiful part of Mayo will know the strength of our community spirit. This is a very challenging time for everyone and we would appreciate any contribution you can make to help us fund the service. Our staff and volunteers provide the support of regular hot meals to many people in our community throughout the year – now more than ever, with older people isolating at home and many more people availing of the Meals on Wheels, we need your support to keep this vital service going. Any funds raised through this appeal will go directly to Muintir a Chorráin (Charity No: CHY 15188) who sponsor and are responsible for the Meals on Wheels service on behalf of the community.
