Lost everything in Hurricane Laura

Me and my Husband just got married on 8/15/20. A week and a half later we had to evacuate with our 3 dogs due to Hurricane Laura approaching our city Lake Charles, La., we have been in a hotel in San Antonio with his family for over a week now and we are running out of funds.

A few days ago we were battling with our insurance company, which still hasn’t helped. And they said we needed to go back and get pictures because no running water and no electricity wasn’t a good enough reason to make an insurance claim. We have also contacted Fema who has also denied us assistance. 

When we made it to our place to take the pictures our world crumbled. The roof caved in our bedroom and closet. We lost all of our clothes and all of our items in the bedroom. Our living room windows blew out and it looked as if a tornado went through it and destroyed everything we own and have built together. There is mildew and mold already growing just after a few days. The things that appeared to have survived are either damp or soaked.

We have decided that we want to relocate to San Antonio but we are both far from our jobs to make an income due to having no home. I’m asking for any kind of assistance. 

I am not the type to ask for help, but I have reached the point of desperation.  Me and my husband have to rebuild from scratch just like the many others that were affected by Hurricane Laura.  If you can not help we do understand, and are not upset, we are surviving and safe as of right now, but we do not have anything to go home to at the moment.
