Support the Denton Wesley Foundation's Pastoral Intern, Baylee Davis! This year, the Denton Wesley Foundation, an affirming, inclusive, intersectional, and unapologetically Christian ministry of the United Methodist Church for students at UNT, TWU, and NCTC, has hired Baylee Davis to be its Pastoral Intern to explore her call to ministry and use her gifts for pastoral leadership and care. Baylee is stepping out in faith to raise her own salary so that she can form a network of supporters for her spiritual journey and discernment of her calling and so that the Wesley can grow its ministries to students in Denton.
Meet Baylee.
Hey y’all! My name is Baylee Davis. Serving the Denton Wesley Foundation blessed my life greatly this year, and I am SO excited to reprise my position next year! My faith has always shaped my life, beginning in youth where I served on numerous mission trips and praise bands. After my graduation in 2016, I began my degree in Psychology and minor in Theatre at the University of North Texas. During my first year at UNT, I became active at the Wesley through the worship band. Now in my second year, I am the Student Minister at the Wesley where I help plan, design powerpoints for, and sing in worship every Tuesday. I also create space for discussion and art through my Home Group “Unplugged.” This year, I’ve collaborated to implement other programs such as Care Team that prays with students during worship. This is something I hope to expand next year to deepen relationships and comfort people with God’s unconditional love. The Wesley has inspired me to pursue my passion for God through relational ministry. Because of this, I plan to use my gifts and passions for either student ministry or pastoral care. I hope to cultivate this path starting here at the Wesley and continue it after my graduation next spring through seminary. In the meantime, I will enjoy my summer interning with the youth at Granbury FUMC, attending and singing at First Lewisville, relaxing in the mountains, and drinking too much Dr. Pepper.
