Many thanks for your kind thoughts towards offering us hope in the midst of Covid 19. I am deeply touched by your sense of belonging, and your desire to fill a gap. No doubt. Covid19 brought our Foundation to its knees and we have been looking for a way forward. We are also not unmindful of what it has done to families in Europe and feel really moved by your desire to offer help to us in Ebunoluwa Foundation.
Besides offering social welfare to society, my dream is to set up a gallery as my plan B in life and the setting up of an art gallery in Lagos is doable but calls for alot of funds. Lagos has the best advantage in the sense that most of the different categories of collectors, dealers and artists are in Lagos. The infrastructure and clientele exists and especially in the areas of providing services to artists and collectors in the area of appraisal, catalogue raisonnés, art insurance, cataloguing and valuation services as well as artists profiles and so on. The real keys to success would however dependent on the strategies that can be put in place to attract more attention than other galleries. I am aware of the huge sum of money required and will also see a virtual gallery as an alternative. Every culture will like to tell his story to the world and I see visual art as one way to do so. A virtual gallery is an alternative platform to also fulfil my dream.
With your generous support, it will be a dream come true. It will cost me about 24,000 Euros to set up a gallery. But with 5,000 Euro, I will be able to set up a virtual gallery and a small office in my home. It will be a good starting point towards fulfilling my dream.
