Mr. Bean's Vet & UTI Pain Adventure
Donación protegida
Mr. Bean is an opinionated, adventurous, SMART, loving little cat. Bean has always been very good about using his litter box, so about 2 months ago when he was squatting on boxes, paper, or anything that wasn't the carpet, I knew there was something wrong. I brought him into the vet, 6/5, and they told me that he was just an anxious guy, gave him gabapentin and sent him home. After about a week after, Bean started making faces like he was in a lot of pain, and seemed to go through fits of being "stuck" in positions due to the pain. I brought him back to the vet and showed them a video of him silently chattering and making pain faces na argued my case as that there was something wrong, to which they said "hm, that's weird, we've never seen that before" and sent him home with pain medication and no antibiotics. His pain faces continued to get worse, he was squatting in his litter box with nothing coming out, continuously licking himself, and meowing in pain whenever he was touched. I brought him in to the vet for a third time, they gave him the same pain medication and sent us home. For the past 2 weeks, his pain faces have turned from concerning to really scary. He squats in his littebox for a half hour at a time with nothing coming out and is hiding away like he's ready to give up. I brought him into the vet today, 8/18, and the vet said that he had an obstruction in his urinary tract and that if he didn't have a procedure he would die. In order to solve this, they have to put him under and use a catheter to try and get rid of the crystals, or whatever is preventing him from using the bathroom. This procedure costs at least $3200, and at most $4000. I love this cat and as much as I don't enjoy asking for help, especially financially, I would not enjoy letting him die more. Please don't feel pressured, anything helps, even simply love and prayers. Thank you <3
