The Cause
Suhayle Master and Faizal Kachwala are aiming to raise funds by climbing Mount Toubkal in Morocco on the 7th & 8th May 2022.
The Mountain of Mercy team has identified a need for medical treatment for a number of individuals living in poverty in Tangier, Morocco. This includes a 3-year-old girl who could lose her sight without treatment and a 60-year old that requires life-saving cancer treatment. Each operation costs approx £500. Our goal is to raise £5000 so that we can provide life changing treatment for 10 individuals.

The Challenge
The Mount Toubkal climb involves a gruelling two-day trek up to 8-10 hours each day to reach the Peak (4200m) on Day 2. This includes acclimatisation overnight at 3000m. With this being our first-ever attempt at such a feat, we certainly have a substantial mental and physical challenge ahead of us. In comparison, Mount Kilimanjaro is 5200m, so we have our work cut out!
The Charity
For the purposes of clarity and having done due diligence, we decided Mountain of Mercy as an ideal partner charity to help with this cause. They are run by a small group of friends (one of whom I have known for 20 years). As a result, we feel at ease with their 100% donation policy & confident in their ability to deliver your donations in an efficient and timely manner directly to the people in need.
All the costs of the trip and the Mount Toubkal climb have been paid for by ourselves.
