Mother's Day Fundraiser - Mothers Recovery Society

Hello! I am Frances Stone, Founder and President of Mothers Recovery Society. MRS is a nonprofit organization that has existed since 2017 to connect mothers in recovery with the strength found in each other. Since March 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic began, with funding from Red Cross Canada, our organization has been able to offer free programs and services such as *Relapse Prevention from an Indigenous Perspective, *Recovery Capital & Transformation, *WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) and *The Mothers Mental Health Series and furthermore, has doubled in size to serve 1.5 k Canadian mothers in recovery within our virtual community. 

We are asking for your help in acknowledging, celebrating and supporting the mothers in our recovery community for their hard work, perseverance and commitment to their recovery process despite unprecedented challenges. With your help, we will be able to use your financial donations towards creating a Mothers Day event that will provide gift cards, prizes and activities for mothers and their children in our community. We will also be using a portion of donations towards supporting the mothers in our community that due to challenging circumstances, have been estranged from their children over the last year in the effort to encourage them with hope and love on their individual path of recovery.

Vision

Mothers Recovery Society’s vision is to create an inclusive community of empowered mothers free from the stigma, isolation and effects of addiction, abuse and poverty to advocate for mother’s rights and freedoms to create a more fair and just society in Canada.

Mission

Mothers Recovery Society’s mission is to engage, educate and empower mothers in recovery from the effects of drug and alcohol misuse by increasing access to community, education and resources that decrease intergenerational trauma, develop recovery capital and support the maintenance of long-term recovery.
