Hi, I'm Robert Mortenson.
About 7 years ago I changed my life forever. I was a different man then. I only thought of how I could benefit from any given situation. What's in it for me? This life was empty and meaningless despite having a great job, loving and patient family, and a bank account that could more than pay my bills and put food on the table.
And then, one day, my selfishness bit me in the ass and I was in fear of losing it all. I had to change. To grow. I struggled for a few years making it all work even if only if in mediocrity.
I made better choices and gave up the things that were only causing me and my family hardship.
Now, after much soul searching and living with more compassion, I have realized why we're all here. To love one another. To give of ourselves without expectation. Because after it's all over and the curtains are closed, what did it all mean? Did you freely share of your own good fortune for those who couldn't for themselves? No one will remember you for your car, your flashy shoes or even your likes on facebook. They'll remember how you made them feel.
So what I want to do is give of myself. To give back. What I'm looking for is donations to start putting together grocery bags with simple yet needed essentials. I want to deliver these after work to the homes of those in need. Each bag will contain food and basic essentials that a family or individuals might need to get through this tough time in our history. Even if briefly. Will you help me see this through? Can you give a small portion of your own good fortune to aid in helping our fellow humans?
I still believe in our inherent good nature. Will you?
