Morris Group's Campaign for Oak Table Inc.

Want to join us in making a difference? The Morris Group of Companies is raising money to benefit Oak Table Inc. 

Oak Table provides hospitality, support and advocacy to those in need of a safe, respectful community. Oak Table’s guests come from all walks of life and many areas of the city in Winnipeg MB.  Food and housing are two big challenges their guests experience.  Some are without a home and live on the streets, while others stay with friends, family or couch surf when it is very cold. Those who live in stable housing, often use money meant for food too access a safe place to live.  This results in them needing the nutritious meal Oak Table serves.  Many guests do not have easy access to medical, dental, or mental health supports.  Oak Table provides support in these areas.  Once people eat and the panic of hunger subsides, they are able to speak with nurses, social workers, CMHA workers, or meet with our Foot Care Nurse.  Oak Table has an art program which helps people express and give voice to and heal from trauma in their lives.  Guests participate in music programs, karaoke, computer and literacy programs.  Guests have access to internet, telephones, and newspapers allowing them to make doctor appointments and to keep in touch with their families.
