Mobile Mentoring Bus

The EMIY Mobile Mentoring Bus concept emerged from the pivot of our 2020 response to the disconnection of boys from peers, recreation, school, safe spaces and the community at large. We saw the rapid displacement of boys and the non-productive activities that began to draw them. We knew we had to go to them with positive alternatives, information and engagement. Using the 'old school' play mobile, bookmobile and swim mobile concepts and remembering the impact they had on kids in the '70-the '80s, we knew that it could bring the same novelty to this generation of boys. Offering a sense of exclusive connection for boys is the first stage to connecting them to a safe space specifically for them

This Project will help boys have value and inspire them to make good decisions. We purchased an RV in hopes of having it wrapped and customized to meet the boys where they are at. Since 2018 we have recognized boys 5-11 are number 1 in dying by Suicide, and males are making bad decisions today that are costing them and our communities. There are approximately 84,000 boys in our demographic of service, about 38% are actively engaged, which means 62% of them may not. What do you think they are doing without positive guidance?

Since 2007 EMIY Inc has Impacted over 22,000 youth, 63% males, with mentoring, speaking, engaging and awareness in southeastern Michigan.
