Fire Relief

Hi, my name is Amanda. I am fundraising for my sister in law and her family who have been displaced due to a house fire in Kanata on September 22, 2022. This home has been in the family since Kayla was 3. It has been in the Family since 1990. Her and Ryan have lost everything- the home and all its contents. Their romance started in this home and this is the only home their girls have ever known.

Kayla Evans (nee Deschamps) and Ryan Evans and their 5 year old twin girls were extremely lucky that this electrical fire occurred during the day. Ryan was able to save the kids and dog from the fire. Their 2 cats were saved by the firefighters. The family is extremely grateful that there are no injuries due to the fire but their home is destroyed, and they left with nothing but the clothes on their backs- they weren't even wearing shoes!

While we wait for the lengthy process for insurance to cover the costs of repairing or rebuilding the home, life must go on. The family will need money for food and clothes. They are looking for a place to live but in the meantime they are staying with family. Eventually they will need to replace all furniture, appliances and toys/games.

We all need a little help sometimes, and this is definitely one of those times. Kayla and Ryan are so generous and now they need the generosity of others. It is not in their nature to ask for help so I am doing this on their behalf (but with their consent).

Money is not the only way to help! We would gladly accept clothing donations, gift cards for groceries or restaurants, etc.

The twins are in size 5-6 clothes and size 12 or 13 shoes and boots. Ryan is a large to XL top, and 38inch waist 36 long. Kayla is medium or large top, medium to large pants.
