Mississippi Blood Services: Give One, Save Three

Donating blood has been a passion of mine since early high school. Luckily, I have never feared needles, so the concept of being poked for under 10 minutes to save a life seemed intriguing.

My passion started late in high school, several weeks after donating. I received a phone call from the organization I had donated blood and expected it to be a reminder that I was eligible to donate again. Instead, it was one of my life's most inspiring phone calls. When I answered, I was informed that my last donation had been used to save another man's life.

My small 30-minute act of kindness had made an impact far more significant than I could have foreseen. That is why I have chosen MBS as my philanthropy for Mr. Ole Miss. While it is not donating blood, a monetary donation can go a long way in helping this great organization!
