Mission Grandbois Breakfast Club

The village of Grandbois is approximately three hours from Haiti's capital of Port au Prince. The community is living in extreme poverty and depends on the few crops that they produce for their everyday needs and as well as raising money to send their children to school. Often times school becomes secondary to meeting the basic needs of food and shelter. In an effort to provide support to the Grandbois community, an educational scholarship fund was established-The Edouarine Alexandre-Vilceus Educational Fund- to cover educational expenses for 25 of the community children at various levels of education. However, with one problem addressed, another is magnified. The children are going to school hunry, often times from the night before. We know that hungry brains cannot learn. This gofundme project is in an effort to put together a breakfast program for the children. Education provides power and access to the road out of poverty...however, hungry minds can not absorb the needed education.
