Miracles for Myia

With Jacqui’s support I have started this GFM to assist Myia with her recovery on the journey ahead.

Myia is 21 and is currently critically ill with a condition called HLH or Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis.

Myia is in an Intensive Care Unit in an induced coma. Her challenges have been ongoing with recurring multi organ failures and is currently on a breathing machine and a kidney machine to survive. She is undergoing massive drug therapies including chemotherapy, antibiotics, antivirals, blood pressure medication, blood platelets, blood transfusions and white cells.

On three occasions we have been told to come in as they were not expecting Myia to survive.

Myia is still critical but is stable as of today. We live in 12 hour blocks awaiting the next update from staff in the unit, the staff have been fantastic.

The words from the head Haematologist yesterday were "your girl is most definitely a real fighter, we truthfully did not expect her to still be with us"

Myia is a wonderful human who loves her art, is passionate about her animals and nature. She is one of the strongest humans I know. Until only weeks ago, Myia had been a healthy, happy young woman.

If anyone can get through this, it is Myia - I just know that she is fighting as hard as she can to hang in there and stay with us.

At the end of this marathon Myia is going to need a huge amount of support and your generosity will enable Myia to live her best life in the journey ahead after this hideous disease
