16th Annual Miracle on 3rd Street Toy Drive

Each year Hogs & Heifers Saloon hosts the Miracle on 3rd Street Toy Run that benefits the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation. Since 2005, hundreds of children from the foundation with life-threatening illnesses, and their siblings have attended this magical event annually.  Each year they look forward to having their photos with Santa and taking part in arts and crafts like face painting, cookie and ornament decorating, personalized airbrushed stockings, motorcycle rides, and Christmas presents. This year, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, these children are not able to attend such an event. This year has been even tougher for these families due to the pandemic, increased loss of work, school closures, and medical and educational bill burdens, not to mention limited hospital visits and physical contact throwing so many children into isolation when they need most to be surrounded with the love and affection of family, friends, and caregivers.

We are still hosting our 16th Annual Miracle on 3rd Street but in a "Toy Drive" and fundraising fashion only.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we had to temporarily close our doors on November 7th and reschedule our 11/20 event to a future date in December, still to be determined.  Hogs & Heifers WILL be reopening on Tuesday, November 24th but given the Covid rollercoaster there is no guarantee that we will be able to gather for an actual toy drop-off date, and our sudden two-week closure has set us back considerably in our fundraising effort at the bar itself.  This is why we are asking for donations through this GoFundMe page. Prior to closing the bar on 11/7, we were able to raise $3000 and our hope is to raise an additional $10,000 which will make it possible for us to purchase $5000 in toys for the kids and still donate a minimum of $8000 to the NCCF.  This year in particular with so many people out of work, the NCCF is struggling to keep their Family Food Pantry stocked in order to assist the families they serve with basic supplies and vital nutritional needs. Your donations will help to ensure the kids have toys for Christmas and much-needed happiness this holiday season, as well as providing desperately needed funding for food and living expenses for the families of the NCCF.
