Miracle Baby, Lucas Nguyen, needs our help!

On April 1st, 2023, Sonny and Natalie welcomed their baby boy, Lucas Nguyen, into the world. However, the joyous moment turned into a nightmare when Lucas was diagnosed with Meconium Aspiration Syndrome (MAS), a respiratory complication affecting newborns after delivery.

MAS is a respiratory complication that can affect newborns right after delivery. MAS occurs in 5 to 10 percent of births. MAS causes the lungs to become infected, causing pneumonia; as well as: difficulty when breathing, pulling in of the chest wall, low APGAR scores and may cause a limp body. When exposed to meconium in the amniotic fluid for a long time, it can cause yellowed skin and nails.

Due to this, Lucas was taken to Mary Birch San Diego Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment and being monitored in the NICU. Sonny and Natalie have been by their son's side throughout this scary process, but to their dismay, insurance will not cover all the expenses. The bills are starting to pile up, and they need financial help to cover the medical bills.
