Hello! My name is Mike DiMauro. I am the founder of Mike’s Mission. The reason why I wanted to create this fundraiser is because I am an autism self-advocate and a volunteer in the community for people with special needs and in the RV community. On May 3 at the Nathaniel's Hope Make M Smile event at Lake Eola in Orlando, I was selling candy canes and accepting donations to go to the Autism Speaks Advocacy Forum & Hill Day event in Washington DC on July 14-16, 2025. I wanted to raise the money so that I can have the opportunity to fight for everyone in the disabilities community to try and get their lives better! I feel that prices are going up everywhere and yet, the quality of care and the money that we get are going down and that is something that no one in the disabilities community should have to suffer with. I was able to make some money through the candy canes sales and donations, but I am sending you this email to see if I can get some more donations so that I can truly go to DC and fight for the disability community! I feel that everyone should have the opportunity to speak and have their voice heard! I would like your help in sending me to DC so that I can fight for you as well. Please let me know if you or your organization can help me out and together, we can make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities across the Central Florida community and across the United States of America!
