Midwife, Doula, & Recovery

After many years thinking I am barren, it turned out that I am not. I’m expecting my first child in May. I’m growing a fetus with a penis.

Last year, from June until December, I worked as an animal caregiver at a local animal shelter. I made $10 an hour and it was extremely physical work. (I lost 17 pounds within the first six weeks of working there.) But after I found out I was pregnant, I knew I needed to do something else that paid better and was less physically demanding.

Those of you who have been following me for a while, know that I am not hugely popular, therefore, I need financial help to pay for the midwife & doula. I will also not be able to work like I currently am because I will need time to heal after giving birth.

I haven’t been able to be happy about bringing a child into this world (I battle with my inner environmentalist every day.) because I’m too stressed about the financial toll it will take to birth and raise my son the way I want to.

I set up a midwife & doula fund on my Babylist registry months ago, but not a single person has donated, so I’m hoping the familiarity of this site will gain more traction.
