Help Michelle Craig with medical and living expense

We are Team Michelle all the way! And she needs our help. As many of you know Michelle is battling cancer. Most of you may know her story...but in case you don't let us share it with you.

The weekend following Thanksgiving 2024 was a normal weekend...until it wasn't. Thanksgiving celebrations with family and friends, a trip to the mountains to get a Christmas tree, more food and fun with no idea what Sunday morning would bring. Went to bed healthy Saturday night. Woke up Sunday morning with what was thought to be a crick in her neck, maybe slept on it wrong. As the day progressed so did the extreme pain and the feeling something just isn't right. An ambulance trip to the hospital resulted in many tests and the news that her neck was broken. This can't be! Who goes to bed healthy and wakes up with a broken neck? The break was caused by a large tumor on the C3. Surgery was scheduled to repair the break while a biopsy was completed on the tumor, which proved to be malignant. Then went the search to find where the cancer originated. After many test and biopsies, our beautiful Michelle was diagnosed with breast, bone and lymph node cancer. After surgery she was placed in a neck brace for 3 months and during this time underwent painful radiation treatments on her neck. She is now on Chemo, taking bone injections and continues with blood draws, medication, doctor appointments, MRIs, CT scans, bone scans, EKGs, and various other test as needed. The list goes on and the cost goes up with each visit, test, or treatment.

All of this is very expensive and stressful. As she navigates her treatment she is also having to manage as best she can the cost of care and living expenses. Another blow came as she was told she would not be able to return to work this year. Michelle is a teacher with 29 years of service - one year away from full retirement.

I started by saying we are all Team Michelle! Many reading this have been praying for her through this journey. Please continue to do so! Many have sent gifts, texts, visited and invited her out to keep her spirits up. These things are priceless, please continue to do so.

We have one more ask, for anyone who is so inclined and able to help. Let's help reduce her stress of the cost of cancer. No one is prepared for a diagnosis or the cost of cancer. One week in the hospital for the surgery was over $200,000. Insurance helps but there are still a lot of medical costs remaining. Co-pays for all the visits, medication, transportation, etc. The after insurance amounts are astronomical. And then the normal cost of living without a normal paycheck coming in makes financial management impossible. The bills keep coming.

Bottom line, cancer is expensive and she needs help. Any amount appreciated. Again, if you are not in a position to help do not feel obligated but if you can help we will be so grateful. No amount too small or insignificant.

Thank you!
