Michael Chan’s Hospice and Medical Care
Donation protected
When we think of Michael Chan, we think of his generous friendship, his colorful style, and his undeniable humor. His curiosity drives him to travel the world and share his love for food, fashion, and culture to those around him.
At 18, Michael was diagnosed with Familial Adenomatous Polyposis, a rare precancerous condition. At 30, he was diagnosed with stage four colon and liver cancer. Even while undergoing chemo and radiation therapy, Michael continued to live his fullest life– traveling the world, excelling at work, and cultivating new friendships.
In his giving spirit, Michael created a fundraiser to support the AAPI community during the pandemic. He designed a shirt and partnered with over a hundred AAPI owned restaurants across America. His contagious passion led his project to be featured on media platforms such as Bon Appetit, Architectural Digest, and Fast Company. With over $24,000 raised, 100% of the profits were donated towards supporting the AAPI community fund on GoFundMe.
In the last couple months, his health has declined such that Michael, now age 35, is currently at home in Virginia in hospice care and doing the best he can. We are humbly asking for your help to ease the financial stress of Michael’s medical and hospice care, as well as to support Michael’s celebration of life. In true Michael fashion, he desires a colorful, fun, and no-tears party. As he calls it, a “funeral party”. We ask you to kindly help with whatever you can to help with his current care and with throwing Michael’s “funeral party”. If you are unable to donate, please share the link to this campaign so that others may help. Thank you so much.
