Mia's Surgery/medical need

To all our family and friends, it's time to celebrate Mia's 1-year Gotcha Day! May 9th 2017, Mia became offically ours! Can you believe its already been a year? We are so amazed how much she has grown and changed. She was so shy and scared but now is a little girl who loves adventure and fun! However, now that it has been a year, it's time for Mia's expected surgery. She has Meningo-encephalocele: an unclosed cavity of the skull. Most children have this surgery to close the skull within thier first year of life. Doing the surgery will keep her safe from any serious hit or fall that could easliy damage the area of her brain that is exposed. You might have never noticed it, her hair covers her little egg-like bump well. But it has always been a concern for us everytime she almosts bumps it. It will be a 5-day hospital stay and though it does not sound fun, in the end we will be grateful she has a closed skull and can safely play with her crazy siblings. Please consider to give to this surgery. It is an extra cost for us and we would like to have it funded before surgery. Her first doctor visit will be May 23, 2018 and we will begin MRI's and further testing. Depending on the results and the doctors schedule, she will have surgery the end of May or begining of June. Also, the doctor is an amazing foreign doctor that will perform her surgery here in our city! Please too keep her in your thoughts. Thank you!
