Activities for the elderly

Please help me with my Smile Bags project for residents in our local nursing homes. We are giving out “Smile Bags”, bags that are colored and smiley face stickered by my grandchildren. The bags are then filled with either an adult coloring book, crossword puzzle book, word search book or sudoku book. Some bags will receive a deck of cards. Coloring book bags get a set of colored pencils, other bags get fresh pencils to work the puzzles with.
The cost per bag ranges between $1.25 and  $2.25 based on its contents. We have already bought and  made 75 bags for our Veterans who reside at the Batavia VA nursing home. We have purchased supplies for another 110 Smile Bags, that will be divided between nursing homes in Hamburg, Orchard Park, and West Seneca. While 110 seems like a lot it is only a fraction of the number of residents in these facilities.
Please understand that if we are in a red or orange COVID 19 precaution state that nursing facilities cannot bring these donations into their buildings. As soon as  we are in condition yellow or green these gifts can be delivered to the waiting residents. The nursing homes are aware of our efforts and are excited and thankful for these gifts designed to help brighten the day of a resident who can’t receive visitors, or often even leave their room for interaction with other residents.
We would love to raise enough money to supply Smile Bags to all of the residents at the local nursing homes previously mentioned, and if possible, other facilities as well ! Please help to put a smile on the face of a local nursing home resident. These folks are isolated, lonely and bored. Your kind donation can help ease the burden of COVID 19 on our elderly and infirm and show them they are not forgotten.
