Christians College fund-Autism won’t stop me
Donation protected
Hello my name is Melissa Reyes. I’ve started this GoFundMe on behalf of my son Christian Anguiano. A little about Christian, he was diagnosed with Autism and PTSD as a young child, which sometimes made life a little more challenging for him academically and socially but Christian NEVER let his disability get in the way of his hopes and dreams to one day attend a University. Two years ago this young man began his journey at Texas A&M University, he has grown so much as an individual and has taught me so much along the way. Christian is the 1st and ONLY individual from San Antonio and John F. Kennedy Graduate c/o 2019, to be accepted into the Aggie Achieve program. Aggie Achieve is Texas' FIRST inclusive, 4 year residential program for young adults with intellectual disabilities. Christian has been working part-time for HEB since he was a junior in high school. So When he's on break from school, Christian will work at H‑E‑B in San Antonio and then does internships on campus when school is in session. His tuition, housing and his meal plans cost about $24,000 a year and this does not include the extras, like living expenses, daily essentials and his Uber rides to and from work. Although Christian has received a good amount in financial aid and scholarships, unfortunately they still do not cover the whole cost of his tuition. The Aggie Achieve program has been such an amazing opportunity for Christian, he has grown so much as an individual and in return he gets to experience the college life, gain his independence as a young adult with Autism. Upon completion of the program he will have earned a certificate in Interdisciplinary studies but most of all he will have gained the knowledge and skills help him succeed in life. I’ve set up this GoFundMe to help with his tuition and living expenses. Thank you for all your love & support, it is GREATLY APPRECIATED.
