Mercy Worldwide Marathon

I hope you can help me with this vision. As you might know already, I am running a half marathon (21k or 13miles) with the purpose of fundraising for people to build a better world.

When I heard about the marathon for the first time, I said, oh no, thanks, that seems painful. To be honest, I am not a very sporty girl and I haven’t trained for ages, not even close to a half marathon. But thinking more about it, I live in a privilege situation to not make an effort for others. So I started training from January 2020, 2-3 times a week increasing the intensity slowly but surely with 1 extra mile per week until the marathon at the end of March.

Mercy Worldwide is a non-profit organisation with lots of social projects for people in vulnerable situations over the 6 continents, with 80 cities in 35 countries worldwide. They work with kids in difficult situations and homeless people. One of the main and biggest projects is an orphanage in Cambodia with dozens of kids, each one with a story behind. They are in a country were due to its conditions, if their parents die or go through a difficult situation, the kids can easily stop to have access to the food they need, clean water, clothing and not even thinking on education and recreation. Mercy Worldwide doesn’t only help these kids for a moment, but takes care of them with lovely people in a long term basis, with accommodation, education and everything they need for a brighter future. With just a little contribution of ours, we can change their lives completely and together, little by little, build a better world. ✨

The purpose of this race is to work and contribute to something greater than ourselves. For you to have an idea, it is needed only $150 dollars to maintain completely a kid with education and basic needs for a whole month!  The money collected here will go to contribute for social impact through Mercy, especially in the Austral-Asian sector of the world and the orphanage in Cambodia. For that, I’ve been training and decided to raise as a goal $3.000 to support. Also, I’ve decided to stop snacking as much in my life and cook as much as possible for months instead of buying food outside, with that I’ve been able to save and give the first input of $1.000 to get closer to that goal.

If you are here, help me to help ❤️, help me to balance a little bit more the social differences and to contribute step by step towards a better world, anything helps to reach the goal! You can decide to contribute an amount of what you’d spend in a dinner or coffee with me, or the equivalent of a month to take care of a kid in Cambodia, or any amount that comes from your heart.

At the end, you can change the % or amount to donate to this GoFund website as you prefer, and remember that this fundraising site is in Australian Dollars. For you to have a notion, $50 AUD nowadays is $25.500 CLP or $30.5 USD.

Hola!! Gracias por llegar hasta acá. ❤️✨

Espero me puedas ayudar en esta visión. Como quizás ya sabes, estoy corriendo una media maratón (21k o 13millas) con el propósito de recaudar fondos para incrementar el bien en el mundo a través de las personas.

Cuando escuché de la maratón por primera vez, dije, oh no, gracias, eso debe ser duro. La verdad no soy una chica muy deportiva que digamos y no había corrido en 4 años ni tampoco una distancia tan larga. Pero al pensarlo bien, vivo una situación muy privilegiada como para no esforzarme por los demás. 

Así que comencé mi entrenamiento desde Enero 2020, lento pero seguro, incrementando una milla por semana hasta finales de Marzo donde daré la media maratón.

Mercy Worldwide es una organización de distintos proyectos de acción social para las personas más vulnerables en 6 continentes, 80 ciudades de 35 países. Se trabaja con niños en vulnerabilidad y personas sin hogar. Uno de los principales y más grandes es el orfanato en Cambodia con decenas de niños con historias desafortunadas de fondo. Un país en donde por sus condiciones, si se quedan sin padres o estos ya no pueden cuidar de ellos, ya dejan de acceder a alimentación, agua limpia, ropa y menos aún educación y recreación. Mercy Worldwide no solo los ayuda momentáneamente sino que se hace cargo con personas de amor y todas las contribuciones como esta con ustedes para hospedar, educar y cambiar sus vidas por completo; entregar un poco de nosotros puede cambiar la vida de otros y juntos podemos hacer un mundo mejor. ✨

El fin de esta corrida es trabajar y aportar por algo más grande que nosotros mismos. Para dar un ejemplo, se necesitan $150 para mantener por completo a un niño en Cambodia con educación y necesidades cubiertas por un mes entero. El dinero irá a aportar a más bien social como este a través de Mercy alrededor del mundo sobretodo en el sector Austral-asia y en el orfanato de Cambodia. Para ello, he estado entrenando, y decidí recaudar como meta $3000 para apoyar. Además, decidí eliminar tanto snack de mi vida y comer dentro de lo posible comida preparada por mí en vez de afuera con lo que ya he dado mi primer aporte de $1000 para acercarme a la meta.

Si has llegado hasta acá, ayúdame a ayudar, ayúdame a equilibrar un poquito más las diferencias sociales y a contribuir pasito a pasito a un mundo de bien ❤️ todo sirve! Puedes aportar lo que comerías un almuerzo o un café conmigo, o el equivalente a un mes aportando a un niño en Cambodia o cualquier monto que venga de tu corazón.
