Our movement has evolved from our first initiative of petitioning this government for Plebiscites. With the ongoing rejections we are now moving forward with legal actions, public education, citizen participatory engagement and coordination of efforts to encourage a unification of the small-c right leaning parties. To achieve those goals we have initiated incorporation as an Alberta Not For Profit corporation under the encompassing name of Albertans First Institute. We remain a dedicated group of volunteers coordinating efforts to encourage Participatory Democracy throughout Alberta.
As stated from the start, either our call for Plebiscites is granted or we initiate further peaceful, legal, fully democratic and extremely effective measures. We cannot afford to suffer through unchecked NDP rule until 2019. We made the mistake in May of 2015 by NOT fully participating in Democracy, we can right the course right now by CHOOSING to fully participate in Democracy. We want to ensure that the Alberta Advantage is not totally devastated as we refuse to be the generation that leaves a province to our children and grandchildren in worse shape than that given to us.
There are 2500+ volunteers across the province working tirelessly to have Albertan's voices heard and exercise our democratic rights!! We have come to the point where our efforts are going to require some financial help to cover expenses. Our initial legal constitutional challenge is underway and will not be able to be done without serious funding. We have over a hundred thousand petition signers looking to help us and just the first step alone of doing a mailout to inform them is an expensive proposition. And members are pleading with us to counter the $5.1 Million government advertising campaign extolling the virtues of their Climate "Leadership" Plan. So with your help we will.
Every bit helps and is very much appreciated! We need the funds as quickly as possible in order to make a difference before we are all hit with the Carbon Levy. We are asking that only people who can spare a bit of funding to please contribute. Those people that are struggling to make ends meet, please don't contribute, as your family's needs are way more important than this effort!
