Memorial services for my son, Jack Sallaz
Spende geschützt
Hello everyone, my name is Sheila and as most of you may know, I am the mother of Jack Sallaz. This past few days has been very rough with the unexpected passing of my baby boy. My family and I are giving our best efforts to make sure Jack receives the “going away” party he truly deserves. 29 years ago, Jack had been involved in a motorcycle accident with his brother Stevie, they were hit by a drunk driver, and unfortunately Stevie passed away at a very young age. From that point on, Jack lived his life with a heavy heart, and a lot of guilt on his shoulders from the loss of his only brother. Around that time, he began relying on alcohol and drugs to mask his feelings of deep hurt. Even though the accident was faulted on the other driver, Jack always felt as if it truly were his fault. As time passed on, my son had many demons that he began to battle. Our family and close friends always knew that Jackie was a very warm-hearted, supportive, funny guy that would light up any room he walked in. This past 5 years my son was facing hardships and living in conditions that most people could never imagine being in. Recently Jack began having unbearable back pain, which caused him to lose his ability to walk. We found out that he had a leak in his heart, his lungs were filled with fluid, and the hospital found cysts along his spine that could not be fixed with surgery. Jack was very upset with knowing that he would never walk again. On March 28th, Jack was scheduled for a major open heart surgery. Thankfully everything went well, and Jack began his road to recovery. Even though there was a possibility that he would never walk again, Jack kept his hopes high. He was checked into Danridge’s Burgundi Manor, at 4:30pm on Friday, April 14th. At 9:30 that night, the nurse gave me a call and said that my son was very confused, and in distress. A few hours passed, and as I was laying in my bed I started having chest pains. At 12:30am St. Elizabeth called me and told me that Jack had passed away. Anybody who knew Jack, knows that he would give the shirt off his own back to a person in need. All my family asks in return is to keep Jack in your thoughts and prayers. We are trying to earn just enough to cover the cost of his funeral services. Anything will help, and all is appreciated. Thank you so much!
