Memorial Expenses for William Cooley

This past Labor Day is one I wish I could forget, receiving a call that my brother William had been found lifeless. His death is a shock to our family and doesn’t seem real – Addiction is difficult and it leaves behind a mixture of emotions and grief like no other.

William Andew Cooley, Jr. passed away in the early morning of September 3rd, 2022, just 11 days shy of his 35th birthday. William was a loving son and grateful grandson, protective brother, playful uncle, nephew, cousin and a loyal friend to many. Over the years he crossed paths with several different people, from all walks of life. William was a friend that you for sure wanted on your side. We all knew how William was, but despite his flaws he was so much more.

William was incredibly smart and enjoyed learning. He always had a passion to get ahead, but sometimes circumstances in life hold you back from your true potential.

Although it took years and many difficult life lessons, William overcame opiate addiction and had begun creating a new life – earning a respectable job and getting back on his feet. For those of us witnessing his transformation – we couldn’t be prouder. This is how we want to remember him. Unfortunately, he was taken too soon and we already miss him more than words can express. However, we thankfully find comfort knowing he is in the hands of our Lord and Savior.

Our family would be so grateful if you would consider making a donation so we can give William the funeral he deserves. Raising this money would take an enormous amount of stress off our shoulders.

I can only hope his story inspires others struggling with addiction, to change their life for the better before it is too late.
