Memorial expenses for John Adams

10 years ago, John was diagnosed with small cell stage 3 lung cancer. He was given a slim to none chance of survival past a year, and made it cancer-free until 2024.
Earlier this year, John underwent an extensive spinal surgery when it was discovered he had an aggressive sarcoma attacking his spine. This was a gruesome 3 part surgery where he had ribs removed, cancer removed, and hardware installed in his spine. As he was in recovery, he began to have issues with the rebuild and post surgery healing process. Upon returning to the hospital, it was discovered the cancer had metastasized to his lungs, and he was tired.
3 weeks ago we began hospice care at home, and on the early morning of June 29th, 2024, he finally passed on after his courageous battle.
John was a devoted father, son, husband, cousin, nephew, friend, general pain-in-the-ass, mentor, and grandpa. He loved being a grandpa. To say we are grieving such a tremendous loss is an understatement. I cannot even begin to process living a life that does not include him. I will miss him every day for the rest of my life.
John did not wish for a funeral, and requested a direct cremation with a celebration of life at a later date. It is my intention to use any donations to go towards the cremation, celebration of life, and urns and memorial keepsakes for his family members and grandchildren.
