On December 23rd, just two days before Christmas, our beloved Liamar Matos-Gonzalez died at the scene of a horrible car crash, less than 100 ft from her home in St. Petersburg, Florida. Liamar was walking to a local shop to buy her mom’s Christmas present before making it to her shift at Publix Super Market when her life was taken away by a careless driver. A month and a week after burying her own mother, Liamar’s mom has to bury her child with a broken heart.

Liamar was the most caring, loving soul with a bright future ahead of her. She began dancing earlier this year, a passion that allowed her to express herself freely. She would have graduated high school on the same day as her 18th birthday on May 27th, 2020. Liamar then had plans to further develop her dance skills, attend college, and work part-time to save up for her first car and help her mom out as much as she could.

Liamar was so excited to give all of her family members the gifts that she got them as Christmas was one of her favorite holidays. She always looked forward to gathering with family and celebrating on Christmas Eve. Liamar was known as a role model, a loving sister, a caring daughter, a great friend. All which makes this loss even more painful.

We have set up this Gofundme page to help cover the costs of Liamar’s wake and funeral. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to Liamar’s parents for those costs. We sincerely appreciate any and all the support.
