Before I begin let me say that I have always hated asking for help. I almost never did until pretty recently. Somehow having a child makes you realize that it’s okay if you can’t do EVERYTHING on your own. I’ve also learned through experience that sometimes people actually want to help but aren’t quite sure how they can be of assistance; so they stand back not wanting to impose on others lives.
With that being said, I am here to tell you about my next endeavor that I will not be able to do alone. You know that old saying? Life is what happens while you are busy making plans? Well, yeah. My plan was obviously not to be almost 30 and still striving towards by bachelors’ degree, but life happened. I am so happy life happened. I love where I am living. I love having a child. I love that I am with my best friend. I love my dogs. I love that we are slowly fixing up a house that we call home. I love most everything I have going on right now. But, the one thing I am very anxious to do is complete my degree and start a career.
I was accepted into the Elementary Education program at the University of Central Florida and I am so excited to start. For the first year I will most likely have to keep my full time job but I’m hoping that we can eventually work out a way for me to be in school full time and work part time instead of the other way around. I was holding off on going back to school for a few years while I wrapped my brain around motherhood but now I am more then ready to spend the extra time and money on becoming a teacher.
Here is the part I hate. I need help. I mean technically whether I receive help or not I will continue to pursue my dream. I am doing this not only for myself but also for my family, and that will help motivate me throughout the process. No matter how long that may be. However, any help I receive will only allow me to reach my dream faster (and with less stress). Any money contributed will be used strictly for tuition and books and will be greatly appreciated.
Whether you are able to donate or not I want to thank you for reading this. I will keep this site updated with my progress in case you are interested in checking back in to see how it’s going. Thanks for your time and have a great day!
