For those of you who knew and loved Melissa, you are well aware of her tragic and untimely death as well as of her loving and deserving nature.  I am just one among many whose life was blessed to have had her in its history as we went to junior high and high school together.  I live too far away now to be able to grieve in person with our friends and to pay Melissa my last respects, so I feel compelled to do SOMETHING. 

I always admired the fierce and unconditional love that Melissa displayed for her children, and I hope to enjoy that same bond one day with my own son and daughter.  In addition to the love she had for Zachary and Shania, Melissa welcomed Belle and Ben into her life with open arms as her bonus children.

I know that it would make Melissa happy to see all of her children meet the educational goals necessary to achieve their dreams, so I'm setting an initial goal of $25,000 to raise for them for college in memory of Melissa.
