Our Story
Melissa was once a little girl with a bright smile and a positive attitude regardless of circumstance. Over the years, Melissa has been hit hard at times by life; but she has always managed to pick herself up and dust herself off while never losing her unshakeable spirit and positive attitude. Several years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Although the bills were mounting from insurance co-pays and uncovered procedures, she and her husband, Bill, and two young sons, Chris and Bryson, managed as best they could. She fought hard and for a time was cancer free. Now, three years later, while still paying bills from previous treatments, the cancer has returned. It has spread to the lymph nodes and the liver. Her diagnosis is Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. This time that beautiful smile turned to tears-tears of worry about how the family will manage.
