Dear Family and Friends,
My name is Melissa Lewis, and I am a 3rd-year student at the University of Florida pursuing a degree in Psychology-Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience with a minor in the Sociology of Social Justice and Policy. I am also a combination student pursuing a Master’s of Public Health. This year, I am honored to participate in the Theta Sigma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.’s Miss Black and Old Gold Scholarship Pageant as your contestant #8.
I am deeply passionate about advocating for health equity, promoting community empowerment, and serving others, and I strive to create meaningful change in my community. My future goal is to transform the healthcare system into one that is more accessible and equitable for minorities and underserved populations, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to receive the care they deserve. This opportunity allows me to amplify these efforts while continuing to grow as a leader and change-maker.
Your generous contributions will support me throughout this journey, helping me uphold the values of scholarship, service, and excellence. Together, we can make a lasting impact.
Thank you for believing in me and my mission!
With heartfelt gratitude,
Contestant #8
