Melisa's ALS Diagnosis: We Can Help With Financial Worries
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Janet. The picture you see was taken 3 years ago. Melisa, on the left, and I had a great day together with our husbands at a local festival. Melisa is my cousin. She has received a diagnosis of Upper Motor Neuron Dominant ALS. A year and a half ago, she was an energetic, hardworking individual. Then she began to have difficulties with her voice and then developed a limp. After seeking medical advice, she was diagnosed with ALS. Now, she has become non-verbal, can only walk short distances with the aid of a rollator and is quickly becoming wheelchair dependent.
Life has changed drastically. Expenses have climbed and they will continue throughout the progression of this terminal illness. I am asking you to help offset some of the expenses that will be incurred. Presently, there is a need for around $60,000.00. This will offset the cost of a wheelchair accessible van, adaptive eating utensils, etc. They have so much to worry about. I hope finances won't have to be another.
