UPDATE #5

I apologise for the VERY LATE update! Been meaning to update it for a while but I'm either busy or I've forgotten to do it in my free time. Melanie finally came home on the 24th July. She's been doing very well with feeds and stealing everybody's hearts. She now weighs 7lbs 8oz  and came home without a feeding tube and no breathing support.

We would like to thank everyone for their support, donations and prayers as it helped us out alot!

UPDATE #4

Melanie has been moved into a hot-cot, she is now drinking milk from bottles, her breathing is alot better, she is now 5Lbs 2oz and is allowed to wear baby grows! Could be a couple weeks till she's home, however she will be coming home on an oxygen tank. There will be alot of appointments to go to but we'll manage. Turns out she didn't need eye surgery.

We'd like to thank everyone for the financial and emotional support! Would of been a huge struggle without you all ❤

UPDATE #3

Been meaning to update this! Melanie was moved to trelisk hospital about 3 weeks ago. She's doing amazing! She's now off the ventilator. She weighs 4lbs 2oz. Had 2 eye tests, there are blood vessels growing towards her pupil so she may need eye surgery. At the minute it seems to be a slim chance but we may need to go back to deriford for a few weeks.

Will start adding more updates more often if I don't forget!

We would also like to thank everyone for their donations and support! It really means alot!

UPDATE #2

Sorry for not keeping everyone up to date!

Melanie will finally be moved closer to home this week as she is getting bigger and stronger. She still has her moments/ tantrums but the nurses at deriford believe she's ready!

I'll add more updates once she's moved and settled

UPDATE#1

Had a scare on Friday, we found out a duct in her heart hasn't closed as much as the doctors would of wanted it too. They started her on medication to help close it but the possibility of having to go Bristol or Southampton for heart surgery is still there. She has been tried off the ventilator 3 times and seems to be doing better each time. She has her good days and she has bad days. I would like to be here more often for Melanie and Courtney to support them both.

Any more financial support would be great. If anyone would like to help any other way, a share would also help reach more support.

Thank you to everyone that is supporting us and little Melanie through this difficult time! And thank you to everyone that is/has donated!

Hello, my name is Samuel and my partner's name is Courtney. We are fundraising for our daughter Melanie who was born on 30th March 22 at 23 weeks due to an infection in the womb. She is currently in an incubator on a ventilator. Being tube feed and constantly monitored at NICU. Born weighing at 493 grams.

I am currently not able to work as I need to be here at the hospital (which is an hour drive from home) to support my partner and our baby. My maternity leave barely covers what my car costs to run a month (being a young driver). I got a car I need to keep on the road to be able to go home to have Muslim cloths and our clothes cleaned, still got rent and other bills to pay, hospital food is expensive and we still got bits to get for little Melanie. We need bottles, blankets, dummies, summer clothes, toys, nappies (as they ones she needs are really expensive and hard to find!) Etc. Would of had everything sorted but due to her being so early, didn't get a chance to save properly.

Any donations would be much appreciated!
