Sudden Death by Cancer, Megan Powell

Hello,

My name is Syon Powell, and I'm still in disbelief about what just happened on my mom's 52nd birthday.

My mother has recently passed away of stage 4 cancer on her birthday, leaving behind my father and her three children. My mother began to experience an acute pain in her foot in February 2023. She went to the hospital and the emergency room several time throughout the year (March 2023 - November 2023). First, the doctor told us it was arthritis (March 2023). Then, the doctor told us it was a semantic pain in her leg (July 2023). Then, they said she had a dislocated disc (November 2023). It felt at this point that the doctors honestly did not know how to help my mom and everything seemed hopeless. They told her to take a blood test, which she did and a CAT scan. After the blood test, the doctors did not tell her to do further testing for cancer. They scheduled for her to do a leg surgery for a dislocated disc for January 18 because the CAT scan didn't show anything unusual but a pain in her leg.

It was not until my father advocated to take my mom to the emergency room one more time on January 3, 2024 that the doctor did the proper blood test and told him that she had stage 4 cancer. I saw her go from talking normally to forgetting simple personal information about herself. She went from walking on both of her feet to needing assistance to walk to the bathroom. She only lasted in the hospital for a week and a half before she passed away.

Because all of this is so unexpected, my family needs help in order to pay for the funeral and potential legal fees to seek justice for her misdiagnosis. If you can help, please it will be greatly appreciated.

Lastly, because she passed away on her birthday, we looked up the meaning and came to find out that it means that she had completed her mission here on earth. Please help us honor my mom's amazing life.
