My name is Ankita and I am a Neurosurgery Research Fellow and rising fourth-year medical student in New York. In my pursuit of a globally-directed future practice of neurosurgery, I have made it a personal and professional goal to try to understand unmet medical and surgical needs in low-to-middle income communities around the world. As a first step towards this, I will be traveling to Lagos, Nigeria at the end of March. In collaboration with a neurosurgical department at a hospital in Lagos, I will be offering free medical clinics for the local adult and pediatric patient populations. To be able to purchase and bring basic medical supplies for the patients in Lagos, I have created this GoFundMe page.
All funds raised from this GoFundMe will go directly towards the purchase of medical supplies, and any leftover supplies will be given to the hospital for treatment of patients. Any and all donations, regardless of size, would be so appreciated. Thank you so much for your support!
