Ebony Myers is a thoughtful & kind person who works to better her community. She has volunteered & given her time for others. Ebony is employed at Catholic Community Services through the Ogden School District special education program. She develops close relationships with her bosses & co-workers. She often tries to make their experience pleasant at work. Ebony has often been described as the hardest worker on staff & she takes a great deal of pride in her work. Ebony is also artistically inclined & proud to display her work at Pure Oils in the Layton Hills Mall.
Ebony is a talented cook & has a lot to contribute to society. Ebony has a kitten named Burrito but also helps strays find homes. She has a lot of pride & spirit.

Ebony Myers suffers from a genetic medical condition called Familial Adenomatous Polyposis. FAP used to have a 100% death rate for members of my family who carry the defective gene. FAP causes cancer.
The Huntsman Cancer Institute has found a treatment for this deadly disease.
Ebony had 1/3 of her organ mass removed to prevent early death from cancer. She still has polyps throughout her body & she faces a lifetime of struggle.

On May 31st Ebony underwent surgery at the LDS Hospital. Unfortunately, Ebony developed complications & was rushed back into surgery. What was meant to be a 3-5 day stay has spread into 7 weeks. Ebony is still fighting for her life. 
She will also need long term care after her release. She will be going home with a feeding tube & ileostomy.

Ebony’s family would like assistance in covering the cost of staying 45 minutes away from their home to be with Ebony at the hospital. Ebony will also need assistance after surgery & aid with her medical bills.
