Medical Mission Trip to Lagos

Donation protected
Pictured above are the soles of a pair of shoes. They just so happen to be mine and I've actually worn them as recent as yesterday to the hospital. The point of me displaying them is not for people to feel bad for me but to illustrate what it means to walk in someone else's shoes, given with uncut context. What has been the price of my walk thus far? A small fortune.  And the sacrifice of my walk? Innumerable.

Despite all these "holes" I have encountered along my journey, my comfort is still found in the servitude of medicine.  And in all of my years of training, I've found caring for underserved communities to be the most rewarding. In addition, I have always wanted to use my newly developed skillset abroad but never had the opportunity. That is until now! I have been presented with the opportunity of a lifetime to do medical mission work in Lagos, Nigeria with the Labors of Love Organization from April 29th-May 8th.

The mission of this organization is to provide through collaboration with local government agencies and medical facilities, much needed medical supplies and treatment to the less privileged people of the world. On this trip in particular, we plan on seeing 1,000 patients to provide access to medications, cholesterol screening,
hypertension screening, nutrition information, benefits of physical activity, obesity prevention and BMI, diabetes screening, and Pap smears. We will be staying with host families to truly experience the community we will serve.
Feel free to visit their website for more information on past medical trips and how you can directly make an impact!

Showing vulnerability by asking for help often seems like the hardest thing to do but is generally an expression of what we need most. So here it goes! If you can make a donation, not only toward making my trip a reality but also aiding to provide supplies for this medical mission trip, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance for your consideration!!
