Medical Expense and Rehab Expense

If you know Mike, you know he would never ask for help. But this really hit us blind sided. He had surgery for rotator cuff tear in February. After his recovery, his boss let him work in office doing estimates. Then after some therapy he let him go in the field. When Mike would come home, i thought he was just hurting and struggling with the fact of being able to provide for his family. You know he has raised his grandchildren since they were 6 months, 1 year and 2 year. They are now 15, 16 and 17. In early May, the two oldest left to go with their mother. The youngest wanted nothing to do with her and stayed. Mike struggled, and I thought he just hurt. But then early May he started to have stability problems and memory problems. When he had an appointment with his PCP 6/14, I went with him to express my concerns. He fell on the job 6/15, and I took him to the ER. They referred us to neurologist. He had a MRI on July 2, and within 30minutes the neurologist was calling me to take him to UTMB Galveston because he had swelling of the brain. He spent 6 days in Galveston and was released. The first night he fell, the second night he fell and the 3rd day Alyssa found him on bathroom floor. We called ambulance and he was taken to ER. He broke his neck, C1 and C2. Admitted back into hospital. Too risky for surgery, they want him to wear neck brace. But very serious if he falls. Could be fatal. So upon his release i demand rehab, after 3days of insurance approval, he is transferred. First night he gets up and falls. He is so hard headed,! So then on top of $76 per day, we are having to address a sitter. Can you imagine if Mike knew he was being babysat? His former boss in Virginia and his boss in Texas have reached out to the Unions who said start a GoFundMe page. So that is where I am. If it is God's will for me to quit my job, I will. But that won't pay the bills, medical expenses or babysitting fees. And here we are.
