Medical camps for Kalachakra 2017
Spende geschützt
The Dept of Health, Dharmsala has requested Tibetan Nurses Association of NYNJ to assist with fundraising for this project. I have personally volunteered for the medical camp once in the past. I would love to attend the kalachakra and work at the medical camp but due to personal challenges I will not be heading out but I am definitely working with the TNA of NYNJ towards this cause. We would love all the attendees, our family and friends to have a successful and beautiful kalachakra experience. On behalf of TNA I have signed up on gofundme, so that it would be easier for everyone to participate. Please visit our website, 'tibetannurses.org', we are a 501(c)3 non profit organization, based in Queens, NY.
Letter from Dept of Health....
During the Kalachakra, Thousands of devotees from every corner of the world assemble to listen to the Kalachakra teaching. And the spreading of communicable diseases, during the period, is inevitable. Although some small temporary medical clinics are set up by voluntary institutions and organizations, but due to shortage of man power, especially medical professionals, restrict the clinic from providing full-fledged service to the devotees. Therefore, we organize this camp to deliver 24/7 service to the devotees. We have 6 doctors, 10 registered nurses, 2 pharmacist and 5 clinical health workers, 14 non-medical staff and 3 Driver for Ambulance. We also have two ambulances to provide transportation to the patients. Besides all these facilities, we also attend to emergency cases. And those who need further medical attention are referred to Gaya city hospital.
As per our past experience the most common disease are dysentery and Upper Respiratory Tract Infection. Apart from these two, there are cases like high incidence of water borne diseases, food poisoning, cold, cough, hypertension, stroke, breathing problems (respiratory), and other variable diseases. There are cases of fractures and accident due to stampede especially during morning and evening. There are even emergency case of burning, and these cases are referred to the nearest civil and private hospital for medical attention.
