Jordan High School NASA Launch

The Jordan Rocketry Team was one of 13 high school teams selected in the U.S. to participate in the NASA Student Launch program this year. The team plans to travel to NASA's Marshall Spaceflight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, AL to fly their rocket that they built this year for NASA. It will carry an experiment to an altitude of 1 mile high and safely return to Earth.
The team has been able to finance purchase of the rocket components, the high powered motors needed for test flights. However, the most expensive part of the project is the travel to Huntsville for the team. The team is currently working on fundraising by selling concessions at various events.
The team received a very generous donation from a private donor for power tools, a 3D printer, a computer controlled milling machine, and non-expendable items to be used in building rockets for the future. However, the team still needs financial support to cover the cost of travel to Huntville during the time of April 13-18, 2016.
The team requires support in the area of van rentals, fuel and hotel room expenses. We estimate those costs to be approximately $3500, and the team has been able to raise $1100 to date. We are hoping to raise another $1500 which would allow the students to afford contributions to make up the final difference ($900) to make travel possible.
Money raised in this campaign will be used to directly contribute to the hotel room, rental van and fuel costs for this trip for the Jordan High School Rocketry Team.
By providing financial support for the team, they will be able to visit NASA's MSFC, meet in person the NASA engineers they have been working with on this project, and to fly their rocket with the other teams selected for this prestigious project. For many on the team, this is a once in a lifetime event.
