Hurricane Harvey-Help The McCurrys

Saturday night, August 26th my family (Sister, Brother in Law, Nephew and Niece) went to bed with no evacuation  notice, due to Hurricane Harvey. At 1am on Sunday August 27th, they woke up to water in their home. As the water kept getting higher and higher, my family gathered their cats and waited to be resuced. Water was all around them with no where to escape. As they waited to be resuced, their furniture and all that they worked their whole life towards was floating in the flood waters. They are thankful to be alive, with only the clothes on their backs and their cats. Now the nightmare continues, as everything they own is now out in the front yard waiting to be hauled away. They will have to rebuild their home starting with repairs to the foundation. These are very proud people and do not like to ask for help, however Hurricane Harvey has taken so much from them, we need to ask for help.


I am the sister (Wendy Smith) and aunt to this family. I am in Sacramento, California. These funds will help buy clothes and help to rebuild their house.
