Mbizo Chirasha: Zimbabwean Poet in Exile

#IHRAF African Fellow, Zimbabwean poet-in-exile, finds himself in tough straits, currently billeted in difficult conditions in East Africa.   As Mbizo noted in a recent email to me:
"My global activities (work) in Zimbabwe, which is my mother
country, especially with NGOs, Social justice groups, human rights groups has caused me to be regarded as a state opponent and a sellout. I also have been running the Zimbabwe We Want Poetry campaign and this angers both the previous and the current regime.  Important people in Zimbabwe are not happy with my writings against corruption and injustice.
I am facing threats in most southern Africa countries. The launch my political poetry collection triggered a lot insecurity in most southern African countries including my country.   A 'letter to the president' in my new collection has opened fresh controversy in my life.
No one likes to live unsafely, and this is what is happening to me. Relocation will be good for me because I am not safe.
Somebody followed me from Zambia to South Africa and wanted to know my location and was sending messages on Facebook trying to locate me.
I need to get out of this space for my sake and to work peacefully."
IHRAF #directaction is raising money to help Mbzio find stability!  We often forget in the USA that activist artists take real risks in other countries -- and Mbizo finds himself on the run and in hiding due to his artistic endeavors.  Please help the International Human Rights Art Festival aid this courageous fighter for justice!
