May Wright Needs a Tombstone

May Wright Needs a Tombstone

Who is May Wright, you wonder?  May L. Wright, a teacher, was born July 21, 1900 and died April 2, 1989. She was born and died in Berlin, NJ and is buried in Berlin Cemetery.  She never had a tombstone and the Long-A-Coming Historical Society would like to give her one.

Why?  There was no family when she died to buy her tombstone.  She is the only one of her family buried in Berlin Cemetery without a tombstone.  Her brother, Charles W. Wright, was well known for documenting Berlin History. He wrote The History of Berlin, NJ (Long-A-Coming).  We don’t want to see her spend eternity in an unmarked grave.  Everyone deserves to be recognized.

Our organization is very small.  The only way we can give May her stone is through the generosity of others.  The money we collect will pay for the stone, engraving, and installation.

We are preserving the history of the people of our town and honoring a life.

The Long-A-Coming Historical Society is a small group of individuals who work to preserve the history of our town, Berlin, NJ.

Thank you!
