Help Us Save Mauve

If you know us, you know Mauve.

He’s not just our dog, he’s our baby, our shadow, our heartbeat in a fur coat.

On June 23rd, Mauve started acting off. By the following morning, things took a sharp turn. It began with vomiting and progressed to bloody diarrhea. We rushed him to emergency care, where his blood pressure was found to be dangerously low, and he was immediately started on intensive treatment.

Mauve was diagnosed with Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis (HGE), a sudden and serious condition that can become life-threatening in a matter of hours. His lab work showed severe dehydration, critical electrolyte imbalances, and neutropenia, which leaves his immune system especially vulnerable right now.

He’s still in the hospital under constant monitoring, receiving fluids and medical support to stabilize. Unfortunately his intestines are still bleeding since the 24th. As soon as it stops we’ll update you guys. 

While we’re hopeful, his condition requires continued hospitalization, and every day, the cost of care increases.

So far, we’ve already incurred about $10,000 in medical expenses, and we’ve been told multiple times he was likely to be discharged, only for another day of care to be added. Of course, we’re saying yes to everything he needs. But we’re also doing our best to manage the emotional and financial toll this has taken.

We’re asking for help not because it’s easy but because we can’t do this alone. Our goal is set at $10,000, which reflects this level of emergency and how much his care has already cost.
