Three months ago on September 13, we unexpectedly lost a cherished member of our family. Maureen was a beautiful woman, who had a smile that could light up any room. She was first and foremost a mom, as well as an amazing wife, a strong manager, a devoted friend, and loving grandmother (Grandmoe). Not a day goes by that we don’t miss her tremendously.

Maureen loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed the changing colours of fall. To honour Maureen, we would like to purchase a memorial bench in her name to be placed in one of the city’s parks.

We’ve set up this GoFundMe to give friends and family a chance to contribute to the enrichment of our parks in Maureen’s memory, providing a place to sit and enjoy nature, and perhaps remember our dear Maureen.

Maureen had her own struggles and we also hope this bench will bring comfort to someone who is also dealing with mental health and addictions.

We appreciate all the support given by many people of Thunder Bay over the last few months. Maureen touched many lives, and she lives on through the hearts of every person she met.
