Matumaini Means Hope
Donation protected
Matumaini is an all-girls Orphanage in the heart of Africa. Its caretakers and benefactors have done an amazing job providing shelter, food, education, and care to these girls; but for many here, living isn't easy and when something breaks or becomes worn, it can be incredibly difficult to repair it.
I'm an American woodworker and maker living here for the next few years (that's me ^up there), and I want to put those skills to good use by helping repair, replace, and make anew anything within my skill set that needs it! Currently we're working on repairing many of the beds that have been worn down by the harsh climate. We're asking you to help fund the cost of materials for this project and the laundry list of others they have requested. Any funds left over after materials are gathered will be used to finance any other needs the caretakers inform us of.
For a closer look at what it's like here (or I should say, what it's been like for me here, so far), I've linked a quick clip here:

In Swahili, Matumaini means "hope," and these girls live up to that name. They are smart, funny, full of sass, ambitious and hopeful; and I know what a great blessing it would be for them to know that there is a community of people, even if you are a world away, who cares about them.
