Mattress Mania
I just spent this past weekend at one of my favorite places in the world - Camp Ton-A-Wandah! Camp Ton-A-Wandah is a camp for girls in the North Carolina Mountains. It has been in the Haynes family since 1933. I spent the better part of my childhood there and have been an active alumnae for over 12 years. Like many of us, Camp Ton-A-Wandah has struggled financially over the past year. Up until last year, I had watched camp conduct yearly improvements to their facilities. Due to the restrictions on the amount of campers and the time that they could spend at camp last summer, attendance and cash flow was at an all-time low. Deposits had to be refunded which left reserve funds depleted. In the fall, there was an unusual high amount of rainfall which caused flooding and water damage all around camp. Cleanup and repair is still ongoing! With funds being dedicated solely to this endeavor, the extra projects have been placed on hold. I would love to help them get ready for this summer's campers. Camp Ton-A-Wandah is in need of all new mattresses. I'm asking all my fellow Camp Ton-A-Wandah alumnae, parents of current campers, Grown up Girls Getaway (GUGG) Ladies and all those who believe in camps for childhood development, to consider giving back to Camp Ton-A-Wandah. Don't you want your girls to get a good night's rest this summer and all you GUGG ladies, wouldn't you like to have a brand new bed this fall? Camp Ton-A-Wandah is and always has been a special place for me. Please consider donating, no amount is too small. Camp Ton-A-Wandah will match every dollar raised!
